Did you know that your postcode could be your ticket to free money as Pick My Postcode, offers cash prizes every day and all you have to do is sign up with your email and postcode?
Where can your postcode win you money?
We’ve probably all seen those annoying ads where “someone’s knocking on your door”, well I’m not talking about that lottery, I’m going to be discussing Pick My Postcode, a free postcode lottery.
Started in 2011 by Chris Holbrook, Pick My Postcode, formerly Free Postcode Lottery, is a free postcode lottery where you can win money, just in case you missed it before, I did say free.
Is Pick My Postcode legit?
Before I signed up, this was a question that I asked myself.
As the old saying goes if something sounds too good to be true it often is and needless to say, I was hesitant.
But out of interest, I signed up and while I haven’t won anything yet, I do truly believe that Pick My Postcode is a genuine way of making some free money.
How are they able to offer a free prize draw?
If we know anything about the internet, the likes of Facebook and Google make huge sums out of advertising and while I’m not suggesting that Pick My Postcode is at that level, they are able to offer the free draw by featuring advertisers on their website.
How much could you win?
There are a few ways that you could win, and they include:
Main draw
This is potentially where the big money is won.
At midday every day, all registered postcodes are placed in the draw with one being drawn at random.
The usual jackpot is £200, but if this is not claimed then it will roll over to the next day’s draw.
Video Draw
The midday draw is also drawn at midday every day and you have the chance of winning £50, every day.
Survey draw
Simply answer a few questions and you could be in with a chance of winning £50.
Stackpot
A £10 draw is drawn at 9 am and 9 pm every day.
No effort is needed in this draw, if your postcode is one of those listed you’re in the money.
Bonus Draw
This is another chance to win a prize of £5, £10 or £20.
Unfortunately, if you’re not a regular visitor to the site or invite people to join you won’t be able to play these as they require that you have enough money in your bonus pot.
Regular visitors to the site will get a 1p bonus for each draw that is checked.
You will need the value of the prize fund to be able to enter into the bonus draw.
Flash Draw
If you see the image below, you will win £5.
Look you have to be on the lookout for this as it is featured randomly in ad slots, but not to every registered user.
How do you check Pick My Postcode results?
It is your responsibility to check the website every day, this is how they make their money after all that enables them to offer their prizes.
You will get an email every day to remind you to log into your account to check that you have won.
If your postcode does come up and you fail to claim it does rollover, it is always worthwhile quickly signing in to quickly check, a few seconds of your time could potentially be worth £000s
How do you get paid?
If you’re lucky enough to win, you will be paid by PayPal.
An important thing to remember is if your PayPal account has a different email registered to it rather than the one that you registered with Pick My Postcode you will have to inform them before any winnings are paid out.
If you don’t want or have a PayPal account they also have the option of providing you with Argos E-Vouchers or can pay the winnings directly into your account, though they will charge you £25 for the pleasure.
Okay, you’re interested, how do you sign up?
The beauty of Pick My Postcode is the ease with which you are able to register and start playing.
Simply enter your postcode and email address and you’re good to go.
How do you cancel your Pick My Postcode account?
If for whatever reason you decide that the chance of your postcode winning you money for free isn’t for you, cancelling your account is easy enough.
Log into your account and select My Account in the top right of the navigation.
On the left hand pane under useful links, there is an option to “Quit this site”, click here, provide your reason for wanting to remove your account and click quit.
After clicking quit, you will receive notice that you have been removed.
Conclusion
There isn’t anything to lose by registering and signing in every day to check to see if you have one with Pick My Postcode.
With a number of ways to win, it is a great way to potentially win free money without having to spend anything like you would the national lottery or the postcode lottery.
