I’ve put a list together of those websites and apps that save families money.
As a single income household, I know first-hand how difficult it can be to afford those items that you need or would like to have when raising a family.
It seems that no matter how well you budget and save there is always something that needs to be bought.
That’s why it’s important to ensure that you use the tools available to see whether you’re able to save on those items.
Baby Products
Bounty
Founded in 1959 not only is Bounty a great source of information it is also a great way to save some money.
Their app has a number of great deals that will help you save on those essential and non-essential items.
We recently bought a highchair that was advertised at £150 but with a Bounty code was able to get it for a little over £60.
Bum Deal
It’s madness how much nappies can cost, especially if you consider that your little one is essentially a sleeping, eating, drinking. poo and wee machine.
If you aren’t loyal to one particular brand BumDeal takes the leg work out of finding the cheapest nappy for your needs.
I guess you could consider it a comparison site for nappies
Emma’s Diary
Emma’s Diary is somewhat like Bounty in that it offers parents to be advice and offers of products that they might find useful.
Join The Emma’s Diary club and you will receive 4x gift packs.
Save money on groceries
Shopmium
If you’re looking for a deal at your supermarket then you should definitely look at using Shopmium.
Some of the offers might not be something that you’d usually put in your shopping basket.
GreenJinn
Green Jinn is another supermarket cashback app that gives money back on your grocery shopping.
Their offers are geared towards healthy products.
Like Shopmium. You make your purchase, take a picture of your receipt and your cashback is paid into your PayPal or bank account.
Too Good To Go
Too Good to Go is an app that gives you the opportunity to buy food that is either surplus or would have gone to waste.
Unfortunately, you don’t get to know what’s in the bag until you collect it and by that time you would have already paid for it, though the app does give you the option to filter what foods you would prefer, therefore making sure that you only see those businesses providing that selection on any given day.
You have to be quick, as there is a limited number of Magic Bags and they do get snapped up quickly.
Shopping
TopCashBack
This app and website should be your first visit when looking to buy anything online.
It’s free to use unless you opt for the plus membership where £5 is taken from your TopCashBack account.
You can save money on a number of categories such as utilities, travel and insurance to name just a few.
Using Topcashback doesn’t increase the cost that you pay for a product and best of all you could potentially save hundreds on your purchases over a year
Facebook Marketplace
If you don’t mind secondhand Facebook marketplace is a good way of finding offers near you.
Mrs Monday was able to get a Jumperoo that normally retails for about £90 for £25.
Quidco
Another cashback website is free to use site that I’d advise you to use alongside TopCashBack as they might offer different offers for the same merchants.
Google Shopping
Carry out a Google search on any product that you are looking at buying and you will at the top of the search results see a link to shopping.
Clicking this link gives you a list of merchants selling that product where you can see the price being offered.
Be mindful that Google is compensated for featuring these products.
Days out
Let’s go with the children
If you’re looking to take the kids out there’s no doubt it can be expensive. Let’s go with the children is a great way of finding out what’s happening near you as well as offering vouchers and discounts.
Groupon
Not only can Groupon be used to get discounts on goods. You can also get discounts and family days out and family trips.
Holidays and Travel
Travel Supermarket is a comparison site for holidays, simply enter some basic information and it will provide you with a list of holidays from their ATOL protected partners.
There are many other travel comparison sites, so I’d suggest that you search ‘travel comparison’ in your preferred search engine.
Closing
The above websites and apps are some useful tools that will help you save money but, I’d always advise that you don’t rely on the first site you come across, spending that little longer doing your research could save hundreds of pounds.
If you know any more why not leave them in the comments.
